“At IBC Bank, we share the vision with Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas for the future of health care in Austin,” Robert Barnes, president and CEO of IBC Bank-Austin, said.

“Our commitment to ‘Do More’ aligns perfectly with the future-focused teaching hospital that delivers the best in service and leaves no one behind. Building a new teaching hospital like Dell Seton Medical Center at UT takes great effort and community commitment. IBC Bank is very proud to support this new teaching hospital that will serve the people of Austin and surrounding areas,” Barnes said.

Dell Seton Medical Center at UT will anchor a new downtown health district and serve as the primary training site for students at The University of Texas at Austin’s Dell Medical School. The new hospital, in partnership with the medical school and Central Health, will be part of a safety-net system, provide for more doctors and specialized care, and discover new treatments. It will also be the new home for the region’s only adult Level I Trauma Center, the highest level of emergency medicine in the nation.

The Seton Fund is grateful for the charitable leadership of IBC Bank,” said Charley Scarborough, executive director of development, Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas. “This generous gift will be invaluable in helping Seton build a new modern teaching hospital, which is vital to the creation of a new model of care that improves services for our growing population, including the poor and vulnerable.”

Seton is part of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and largest non-profit health system. Ascension and Seton are investing $255 million to build Dell Seton Medical Center at UT, which is expected to cost $305 million.

The Seton Fund, with help from community leader fundraising volunteers, is spearheading the effort to raise the other $50 million from the community – one of the largest goals for a single, nongovernmental building campaign in Austin’s history.
